Cajun Grilled Red Shrimp Recipe

1. Ingredients

  • 500g – 1kg Large Red Shrimp.
  • 3 tbsp Cajun seasoning, 1 tbsp minced garlic, 1 tsp paprika (optional for extra heat).
  • 50g melted unsalted butter, 1 tbsp olive oil.
  • 1 Lemon (wedges), fresh parsley (chopped).

2. Preparation & Cooking

  • Prep: Clean the shrimp and butterfly the backs to de-vein. Pat thoroughly dry with paper towels to ensure a crispy sear.
  • Marinate: In a large bowl, whisk together melted butter, olive oil, garlic, and Cajun spices. Toss the shrimp in the mixture and let marinate for 15 minutes.
  • Grill: * Oven/Air Fryer: Preheat to 200°C. Arrange shrimp in a single layer and roast for 8–10 minutes.
  • Charcoal/Stovetop: Grill for 3–4 minutes per side until the shells turn vibrant orange and fragrant.

3. Serving Suggestion

Garnish with chopped parsley and a generous squeeze of fresh lemon juice.
Best paired with: Corn on the cob, garlic bread, or a spicy dipping sauce.

Pro Tip: Do not overcook! Red shrimp are prized for their succulent, "melt-in-your-mouth" texture, which is best preserved with a quick, high-heat sear.
