INGREDIENTS
- 8 garlic cloves
- 4 small dried cayenne peppers
- 1/3 cup white wine (85 ml)
- 1/3 cup extra virgin olive oil (88 ml)
- Freshly chopped parsley
- Sea salt and black pepper
- 1 loaf of bread (optional)
INSTRUCTIONS
- Peel and thinly slice 8 garlic cloves, defrost 15 large raw shrimp (peeled and deveined), season the shrimp with sea salt and black pepper, reserve 4 small dried cayenne peppers, and measure 1/3 cup of white wine.
- Heat a large frying pan over medium heat and add 1/3 cup of extra virgin olive oil. After 2 minutes, season the olive oil with sea salt and add the sliced garlic and cayenne peppers. Stir to combine with the olive oil, and after 2 minutes, when the garlic turns a light golden brown, add the shrimp to the pan, ensuring they are in a single layer.
- After 1 1/2 to 2 minutes, flip the shrimp to cook the other side, then add 1/3 cup of white wine and increase the heat to medium-high.
- After a total cooking time of about 4 minutes (2 minutes on each side), the shrimp will be perfectly cooked. Remove the pan from the heat, transfer everything to a serving dish, and sprinkle with freshly chopped parsley. Serve with a crispy baguette to soak up all the sauce, and enjoy!
TIPS & TRICKS
Use thawed frozen raw shrimp. However, you can also use fresh shrimp. Either way, make sure to completely pat the shrimp dry with a paper towel. This will remove any excess moisture, allowing the shrimp to absorb all the flavors in the pan.
