Best Method (Slow): Place the unopened bag of eel in the refrigerator for 4-6 hours or overnight.

2. Fast Method: Soak the vacuum-sealed bag of eel in a bowl of cold water for 30-45 minutes.
3. Not Recommended: Thawing in hot water or at room temperature for too long can easily lead to bacterial growth and loss of flavor.

Serving directions:

1. Oven method:

Run cold water over frozen eel, sealed in cover and bake in a 350 degree fahren - heit oven, for 12-13 minutes. Ready to serve.

2. Microwave method:

Place frozen eel, sealed in packet, on a mi-crowave-proof plate and defrost about 2 minutes. Piêc holes for steam to escape on top side or packet. Microwave on high power for 4 minutes. Open packet and slide eel. Ready to serve.

3. Boil method:

Place frozen eel, sealed in packet, in boll-ing water. Boll for about 10 minutes. Re-move from boiling water. Open packed and slide eel onto serving plate.

Delicious serving suggestion:

For a traditional Japanese dish, place hot rice in a preheated bowl. Heat eel as directed.

Pour sauce over rice and place eel on top, skin side down. Serve while hot.
